Here are pictures from the recent stop of three World War II airplanes at the local Cumberland Airport. The planes are on tour from the Collins Foundation. To see a bigger picture, click on the thumbnail. I didn't get to tour either plane as the tours were open during my work hours. Never got close to the P-51 Mustang.

One of the things that I was blown away by was the sound of these planes during flight. Here are two YouTube links that you might want to check out. Have your speakers up!! Neither of these videos are from the Cumberland area but you'll get the idea.

B-24 Liberator (Witchcraft) - I saw this one fly into the Cumberland airport as I was at the Industrial Blvd. DQ. The sound was amazing!! My favorite part in this clip is around the 3:40 mark.

B-17 Flying Fortress (Nine-O-Nine) - I saw this one land after providing rides for several people. The sound is amazing but I was a bit surprised as it was a little quieter than I thought. However, I was trying to imagine being on the ground in Germany when hundreds of these flew over!! You have to wait till the 2:00 mark till you get to hear the plane.
